About the event

Hello Hike enthusiasts! Join us for a hike along the Bruce Trail: Beaver Valley Loop. This hike is best for experienced hikers who are comfortable with a longer and more physically challenging route.


This hike is a challenging, long-distance trek through stunning terrain, featuring jaw-dropping vistas. Think panoramic views, lush forests, and maybe even a few surprises along the way. It’s a tough one, but oh-so-worth it for those incredible sights and the satisfying sense of accomplishment at the end.


After conquering the trail, we’re planning to unwind with some well-deserved drinks and beer back in the city; A pleasant way to unwind and reflect on the day’s adventure.


Ready to take on this adventure? Pack your hiking boots, bring your energy, and let’s make some unforgettable memories!


Note: Please note that this is a strenuous hike and you should only register if you can hike 4 hours at a 4km per hour pace. Come prepared with water, snacks, and appropriate gear. We look forward to hiking with you all.

Itinerary:


Bus Departing address (Meet Here): 34 Asquith Avenue (2 min walk from Bloor-Yonge TTC Station)( LINK ).


Bus Departure: 7:00AM Plan to arrive at the pick up point at 6.45 AM sharp as we aren't able to wait for latecomers.


Hike Start (Starting Point): 10:00 AM, Bruce Trail: Beaver Valley Side Trail (LINK)


Hike End (Ending Point) : 2:00PM Bruce Trail (LINK)


Bus Return: 5:00PM We will be dropped off at the same place we started (34 Asquith Ave) ( LINK ). around 5pm pending traffic.


There will be no additional stops.

Length: 13 km


Drop Out Points: None


Pace of hike: 4 km per hour - Moderate


Difficulty: Challenging - Must be comfortable walking for up to 4 hours, varied, hilly terrain.


Terrain Type: This hike has steep sections and in some areas, rocky, narrow paths winding through trees.


Family-friendly: (suitable for young people 17 and under) No


Stroller-friendly: No


Dogs permitted: No


Open to people who want to drive to the start point to meet the group: No


Requiring hiking boots: Recommended, but if you don't have them, sturdy, comfortable shoes with good grips are sufficient


Requiring walking poles: Not required


What To Expect:


Hike leader: Carrie (she/her), Marli (he/him)


What's included: Chartered bus to and from Yonge and Bloor and a hike led by trained hike leaders


What you should plan to bring with you: Packed lunch, snacks, bug spray, a towel or headband, 2+ litres of water, long pants, hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes/hiking boots/walking poles, rain gear if expected.


Registration fee: $45 + service fee, though if you cannot afford it, please contact us at letshiketo@gmail.com to request a discounted ticket based on your circumstances.


Limited tickets: This bus hike is restricted to 41 registrants.

Tickets will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, are non-refundable and can’t be transferred to future events.


Pre-hike email: Registrants will receive additional details by email the day before the hike, such as what to bring on the day, what to wear, etc.


Weather precautions: The hike will take place regardless of rain, wind, or snow so please dress accordingly! We will only cancel or postpone the hike if weather conditions are considered extreme or dangerous, in which case registered hikers will be informed 48 hours in advance.
