About the event
Join us on a bus trip on Bruce Trail in Silver Creek Conservation Area. Located along the Niagara Escarpment, this trail system boasts mature forests, a rockey terrain, flora, fauna and fungi! Along our journey we will encounter some streams, creeks, bridges, rocky sections and hills. While some parts of the trail are fairly flat and compact, other areas are very rocky and have elevation gain. Ensure you have sturdy footwear and be mindful of your steps as things can get very slippery this season! Note this is not a beginner trail.
Please also bring appropriate clothing. Light base layers paired with fleece, vests or jackets will help you moderate your body temperature and stay warm and dry on trail.
We estimate about 3 hours of active walking time at a pace of 3.5 km/hour. We will take a break for lunch/snacks around the half way mark. Please being adequate water and food to keep yourself hydrated, fuelled and comfortable. Don’t forget to also account for snacks on the drive back to Toronto! We look forward to seeing you all there!
Let's Hike T.O. is a hiking community open to everyone with a focus on newcomers, people of colour, and young adults. Â All are welcome on our walks!
