About the event
Come join us for a hike at Claireville Conservation Area! Whether you're up for a peaceful walk or just want to enjoy nature with good company, this hidden gem is the perfect spot. The Claireville Conservation Loop is a popular trail located in Brampton, Ontario. Just minutes from the city, but feels like a peaceful escape into nature. Fresh air, beautiful views, the perfect way to recharge. This hike will be an 8 km on relatively flat terrain. If you can walk for 3 hours, this hike is for you.
Let's Hike T.O. is a hiking community open to everyone with a focus on newcomers, people of colour, and young adults. All are welcome on our walks!

Itinerary:
Bus Departure: 9:00AM. Plan to arrive at the pick up point at 8.45 AM sharp as we aren't able to wait for latecomers. Location is near Bloor-Yonge TTC Station- 2 Minute walk (exact location will be shared with ticket holders closer to the date).
Hike Start: 10:00 AM. Hike coordinates will be shared with ticket holders closer to the date.
Hike End: 1:30PM. Hike coordinates will be shared with ticket holders closer to the date.
Bus Return: 2:30PM. We will be dropped off at the same place we started (Near Bloor-Yonge TTC Station) around 2:30pm pending traffic.

Pace of hike: 3.5 km per hour - Moderate
Difficulty: Intermediate - Must be comfortable walking for up to 3 hours.
Drop-out point: ***This hike has no drop- out points.***
Terrain Type: Relatively flat trails, with some hills and muddy terrain.
Family-friendly: (suitable for young people 17 and under) No
Stroller-friendly: No
Dogs permitted: No
Open to people who want to drive to the start point to meet the group: No
Requiring hiking boots: Absolutely essential - You MUST have hiking boots to take part in this hike otherwise we will not be able to let you participate for your own safety.
Requiring walking poles: Not Required
What To Expect:
Hike leader: Alma (she/her), Tram (she/her)
What's included: Chartered bus to and from Bloor and Yonge, and a hike led by trained hike leaders
What you should plan to bring with you: Packed lunch, snacks, bug spray, a towel or headband, 2+ litres of water, long pants, hat, sunscreen, [comfortable shoes/hiking boots/walking poles], rain gear if expected.
Registration fee: $30 + service fee, though if you cannot afford it, please contact us at letshiketo@gmail.com to request a discounted ticket based on your circumstances.
Limited tickets: This bus hike is restricted to 40 registrants.
Tickets will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, are non-refundable and can’t be transferred to future events.
Pre-hike email: Registrants will receive additional details by email the day before the hike, such as what to bring on the day, what to wear, etc.
Weather precautions: The hike will take place regardless of rain, wind, or snow so please dress accordingly! We will only cancel or postpone the hike if weather conditions are considered extreme or dangerous, in which case registered hikers will be informed 48 hours in advance.
