Hike Through Trillium Park to Humber Bay Park
Discover a vibrant lakeside trail where Indigenous history, city life, and nature meet along Toronto’s revitalized waterfront.

About the event
This walk begins at Trillium Park, a restored lakeside landscape co-designed with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, where stone-carved Moccasin Identifiers and native plantings honour Indigenous presence along Lake Ontario. Once a sea of asphalt, the park now features rock outcrops, pollinator gardens, and interpretive elements that reconnect the land to its cultural and ecological roots. From here, we’ll follow the Martin Goodman Trail westward, passing along the vibrant shoreline before crossing the Humber Bay Arch Bridge, a symbolic structure near the historic mouth of the Carrying Place Trail, an ancient Indigenous trade route. Our journey ends at Humber Bay Park, a peaceful area reclaimed from lakefill and rich in native wildflowers, birds, and butterflies; A living reminder of how nature, history, and city life continue to meet at the water’s edge.
Let's Hike T.O. is a hiking community open to everyone with a focus on newcomers, people of colour, and young adults. All are welcome on our walks!
