Humber River Salmon Run Hike
Take a riverside stroll and witness the awe-inspiring salmon run along the Humber River, a natural spectacle from September to November!
Time & Location
Oct 18, 2025, 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada
About the event
Join us for a walk along Humber River and watch the annual journey of salmon run! Every September to November, several salmon species migrate from the cold Lake Ontario water upstream through the rivers of Toronto to spawn.
Did you know that Etienne Brulé Park is one of the best spots in Toronto to watch the salmon run? If you are lucky, you might see salmon jump more than a meter high over the Old Mill dam to go upstream to their spawning grounds.
We will start near Bloor Street West and Old Mill Trail, walk north along Humber river before we return back to our starting point, and learn about nature along the way. We will also learn to document the biodiversity we see using the iNaturalist app, small prizes will be given to hikers who made the highest number of observations after the hike: Link to iNaturalist-Let's Hike T.O.- Salmon Run Hike.
Let's Hike T.O. is a hiking community open to everyone with a focus on newcomers, people of colour, and young adults. All are welcome on our walks!
