About the event

Overview

Shake off the Winter doldrums and celebrate Spring by joining us for a fast-paced morning 9 kilometer hike along the Humber River!

The existing trails along the Humber River closely follow the historic Toronto Carrying Place. This path along the river, running from Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario, was long used as part of a trading network between the various Indigenous Peoples of the area, including the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat peoples. Later, the route served a similar purpose for European settlers and was key to the development of the modern city of Toronto.

Our hike will start at Old Mill Station and will follow the Humber River trail north and end at the Weston GO station. We’ll keep a fast hiking pace (Faster than a canter, slower than a gallop!) and aim to get back to the city in the early afternoon.
