Taylor Massey Creek & Don Valley Hike

Starting at Taylor Creek Park, we’ll follow the winding creek through shaded ravines, with towering trees and wetlands. The paved trail is mostly flat, with charming footbridges and quiet dirt paths along the creek’s edge.

The trail then transforms into the Lower Don Valley Trail, running beside the Don River. We’ll enjoy a mix of urban and natural scenery, and finish the hike by crossing Todmorden Mills to get to Broadview Station.

Perfect for a peaceful escape through nature, all while staying close to the city!

Start Point: Victoria Park TTC Subway Station [Google Maps Link] - We will set off at 10:00 am. Plan to arrive at the start point at 9:45 am sharp as we aren't able to wait for latecomers. 

End Point: Broadview TTC Subway Station [Google Maps Link]

Length: 10 km

Pace of hike: 3.5km per hour - Relaxed

Difficulty: Intermediate

Terrain Type: Mostly flat trails. Paved and dirt trails.

Dog-friendly: No

Family-friendly: (suitable for young people 17 and under) No

Stroller-friendly: No

Requiring hiking boots: Recommended but if you don't have them, sturdy, comfortable shoes with good grips would suffice.

Requiring walking poles: No

Hike leader: Tram (she/her)

Registration fee: $5 + service fee though if you cannot afford it, please contact us at letshiketo@gmail.com to request a discounted ticket based on your circumstance.

Limited tickets: This hike is restricted to 15 registrants. Tickets will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, are non-refundable and can’t be transferred to future events.

Pre-hike email: Registrants will receive additional details by email the day before the hike, such as what to bring on the day, what to wear, etc.

Weather precautions: The hike will take place regardless of rain, wind, or snow so please dress accordingly! We will only cancel or postpone the hike if weather conditions are considered extreme or dangerous, in which case registered hikers will be informed 48 hours in advance.
